Waldschlösschen-Chor
The Waldschlösschen-Chor is a project choir meeting once a year at the Academy Waldschlösschen (Göttingen). Singers from DE, AT, CH, NL, and UK perform music with LGBT themes. The choir’s lineup changes yearly, depending on who joins the workshop.
The Waldschlösschen-Chor was founded in 2011 as an annual choir workshop at the Waldschlösschen Academy near Göttingen. The Academy promotes acceptance of sexual and gender diversity through education and networking. The choir welcomes LGBT singers who enjoy meeting new people and making music together. Many members join because they lack time for regular rehearsals or live where no LGBT choir exists. Our weekends offer a relaxing atmosphere and inspiring music. We’ve sung at Various Voices in Dublin (2014), Munich (2018) and Bologna (2023). The choir is led by Britta Jobst, with piano by Steve Nobles.
The first time that we met in 2011, people were enthusiastic about taking part in Various Voices. We were proud to sing in Dublin in 2014, in Munich in 2018. and in Bologna in 2023. The festivals have a real buzz, with a rich experience of LGBTQI+ culture and people from all over the world. We’re looking forward to Brussels, an important city for the European Union, and we hope that VV2026, besides the great music, can help improve visibility of LGBTQI+ people across Europe.
