Songbirds Choir
We are Songbirds, a choir for LGBTQ+ women, trans, and non-binary people. We have proudly fostered a culture of inclusivity, where members can find friendship, joy, and create a harmonious sound. We rehearse once a week in Cardiff and perform all over the local area when we can, often for local charities, representing the LGBTQ+ community and, importantly, enjoying ourselves in the process, singing in both English and Welsh!
Songbirds is a non auditioning community choir based in Cardiff, Wales for LGBTQ+ women, trans and non binary people. We were founded in 2012 and have been running for almost 15 years. We’re a fun bunch and enjoy rehearsing and performing together at events and occasions around South Wales and beyond, singing in both English and Welsh!
Attending Various Voices is such an exciting opportunity for the choir, especially after our fantastic experiences at Hand in Hand (the national LGBTQ+ choir festival for the UK and Ireland) in the past few years. Songbirds co-hosted Hand in Hand in Cardiff Hand in Hand Festival in 2019 and we are thrilled to continue getting to know the wider choral community across the world, as well as sharing some of the repertoire we have been working on in the past year.
