The RosaCavaliere were founded in 1990 and represent the awakening and liberation of the LGBTQI+ movement in Germany in the 1990s. With their distinctive a cappella sound and musical diversity, the 17 singers have established a firm place in Berlin’s queer cultural scene. Under the direction of Katrin Schüler-Springorum for 20 years, the ensemble has sung its way deep into the hearts of the queer community – with a repertoire ranging from pop to classical that impressively combines music and political engagement while never forgetting the fun.

Music makes people happy and brings people together. The high presence in Brussels theaters and public spaces increases the visibility of the LGBTQI+ community. We show that singing is popular again and fun. We give courage and confidence to all those who doubt their own homosexuality, but we also send a message: We are here and we are loud, very loud if necessary. Visibility is important all over Europe again, especially in politically challenging times. Now as there are politicians all over the world questioning our hard-won rights and freedoms for gays and lesbians, and all other friends and lovers, we have to stand together. Our special moral support goes to the LGBTQI+ choirs from Eastern European countries. DON´T STEP BACK.
