Quire Belfast is an award winning LGBTQ+ community choir, the only of its kind in Northern Ireland. Formed in 2005, we have over 90 members and our aim is to bring performance, entertainment and queer expression through music and song whilst offering wellbeing support in a safe space.

Established in April 2005 for Belfast Pride, Quire Belfast is a vibrant ensemble of over 90 members. Niall O’Flaherty-Lynch took up the role of Musical Director in 2024. His support of Quire in developing a new repertoire has led to winning performances at many local choral festivals. Of late, Quire returned to performing at the Outburst Arts Festival and forged a new partnership with The Ulster Orchestra on their How We Stand, How We Breathe art production. In 2024 Quire performed at Hand in Hand in Bristol and was awarded Belfast Pride Entertainer of the Year 2024 and 2025. 2025 culminated with an energetic gala concert celebrating 20 Years of Singing Queers – two decades of Quire Belfast.

Various Voices is a chance to connect and forge relationships on the European stage with likeminded individuals and choirs who share a passion for music and song, LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance, love and unity. As the only LGBTQ+ choir in Northern Ireland we are excited to showcase our own talent and to share this international stage with other queer choirs that celebrate diversity and belonging. Beyond the festival, we look forward to enjoying the vibrant culture, history and tastes of the city.
