Philhomoniker – Schwuler Chor München e.V.
Since 1990, Munich’s gay men’s choir, the Philhomoniker, has delighted audiences with shows that are moving, witty, and full of charm. True to their motto “movement keeps you young,” they keep evolving – musically, theatrically, and always with a sparkle in their eyes.
Celebrating 35 years of singing, the Philhomoniker is Munich’s fabulous answer to what happens when you toss out the choir rulebook and replace it with pure joy and togetherness. Over time, we’ve become a modern revue choir — and a piece of family for our 40+ members. We’ve lit up stages across Europe, from festivals like Various Voices and others, the UEFA EURO 2024 Fan Zone in Munich, Christmas concerts on Munich’s famous city hall balcony, and this years’ 30 anniversary of the Brighton Gay Men’s Choir. We co-hosted Various Voices in Munich in 1997 and 2018. Our latest show takes you into a queer sports club — where nerves flutter, muscles tremble, and sometimes even towels drop.
Various Voices Brussels 2026? Honey, it’s our grand European homecoming! The Philhomoniker, Munich’s cheekiest gay men’s choir since 1990, are ready to serve up a spectacular mini-revue for our entire LGBTIQ+ choral family. As co-hosts of Various Voices in Munich 2018, we know this scene is essential. We’re bringing our signature cocktail of musical excellence, theatrical camp, and pure community joy to Belgium. Get ready for a feast for the eyes and the ears!
