Miss Klang is a diverse women’s choir from Hamburg – queer, straight, trans, in between. We enjoy singing and performing on stage. Our choir is organized democratically. This is wonderful and sometimes a challenge. Together we develop thematic programmes. In Brussels we present songs about The Night.

Miss Klang was founded in 1991 by our Choir Conductor Ulrike Lachmann. Our singing includes pop, jazz, chanson and classical music. Our Choir community gives us friendship, support and inspiration in all aspects of life. Fun facts: practicing scream-singing as “Choir of the Furious” at Schauspielhaus Hamburg/Queer Solidarity concerts /Choreographic rehearsals: emotional and empowering/ Reaching our choir’s performance in Weimar despite floodings/Birthday and barbecue parties thrown by our singers/Crying about forgetting one’s rubber boots for our “rain program” at the hotel/Meeting in parks during the pandemic and not meeting the police/Various Voices in Paris, Dublin, Munich, Bologna

For the women of Miss Klang, Various Voices is a wonderful opportunity to listen to singers and songs from Europe and around the world. We are curious about your thoughts on music, love and life, war and peace. In times of uncertainty and threat of war everywhere in the world, it is particularly important to us to send a signal in favour of an open Europe and queer solidarity. We want to celebrate diversity with you and we hope to give back some inspiration to the community.
