The European Queer Choir (EQC) are very excited to be coming to Brussels: our 3rd Various Voices Festival! An SATB choir of about 30 people with members from Ireland, Sweden, Germany, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands, we keep growing, making music and friendships across the continent!

EQC started in 2016 as a pop-up choir to represent LGBTQ choirs from Europe at the North American GALA Choruses festival in Denver, Colorado. It was such fun and so fabulous, we carried on! From 16 people, we have grown over the years, gathering more members from across Europe and we welcome more. Our logo is inspired by the European Flag, with the colour of the stars changed to represent the diversity of queer folk. We meet and rehearse for a weekend together about 3-4 times each year in different countries and our main aim is to perform at LGBTQ choral festivals like Various Voices and the UK & Ireland’s Hand in Hand. We would love to go to even more queer choral festivals across Europe!

This Various Voices Festival will be very special for EQC as we will celebrate 10 years as a choir with everyone there! Since the last Various Voices Festival in Bologna we travel through Europe on our rehearsal weekends from Berlin, Leeds, Brighton (performing in Bristol) then Brussels, Kluisbergen, Warsaw and Ghent – all to reach VV2026. We are ready to party and bring our ‘EL AMOR ES AMOR’ set to share with everyone! Come and hear us sing!
