Diversity
Diversity is London’s original LBGT+ chamber choir, set up in 1992. We perform a wide variety of music from classical choral to musical theatre and pop. Our inclusive SATB choir has over 50 members. We want to bring different music to new audiences, support the community and make singing fun.
Diversity was formed in 1992 as London’s original LGBT+ chamber choir. We usually perform two main concerts: Christmas and summer. We support our communities by singing at public events, including the Soho Act of Remembrance and Hate Crime Awareness Week, and enjoy successful collaborations with other choirs and orchestras. We have been going to Various Voices and Hand in Hand festivals for many years. We loved welcoming other choirs to our city for Various Voices London in 2009. Although things have not always gone smoothly, such as when our Musical Director was locked out of the venue in Munich and a choir member had conduct the first piece, we have always had a blast at Various Voices.
We can’t wait to join our friends and fellow singers from across Europe and the world in Brussels. There is no substitute for the buzz of sharing songs, stories, and experiences with so many choirs in a wonderful city. We look forward to showcasing our own programme and enjoying the performances of our friends, old and new. We are excited to raise our voices together in songs that unite us across borders, backgrounds, and beliefs to bring the joy of shared music to everyone.
