Carmen Curlers is a truly mixed choir from Copenhagen. Our motto is Curls were never meant to be straight! We have always valued community and togetherness very much while our musical ambitions are quite high.

Carmen Curlers started in 1991 as the first gay choir in Denmark. We have members who have been with us for over 30 years. The repertoire ranges widely, from classical choral pieces to ballads, Danish songs, and evergreens, pop, and rock. Choir members themselves have an influence on the composition of the repertoire by suggesting songs. The choir strives to hold at least two concerts a year: a summer concert and a Christmas concert, which have become a tradition for many in the audience. At Christmas we also perform at a nursing home for elderly LGBT+ citizens. Bonus info: Carmen Curlers was originally a successful Danish brand producing iron papillotes until 1991 when we started singing.

We have participated in all Various Voices since Groningen in 1995, so off course we come to Brussels. We hope to meet old friends and new. And for our new members, this is the moment to encounter the international gay fellowship.
