Sing Out Brussels!
Sing Out Brussels! is a joyful, inclusive LGBTQI+ community choir that celebrates the identity of each and every member. With 20+ nationalities and 15 languages, our members reflect the Brussels’ diversity and are united by pride, friendship, and a love of singing our fabulous original arrangements.
The intrepid queeroes who created Sing Out Brussels! had a dream: a choir that cherishes community as much as musical quality. As we’ve grown, we’ve evolved to make it all happen: Joy Team volunteering, Trust Persons to talk in confidence, Systemic Consensing for inclusive democracy… Over 7 seasons, we have created ambitious shows (Queeroes, School’s Out…), performed for the public (Pride, Nuit positive with Mustii…), released our music (In These Heels, School’s Out…) and sung with other choirs (Exchanges, Hand in Hand 2024…). Our community has become our chosen family with several choir weddings and babies, and one singer being rushed from an after-show party to the hospital delivery room!
The dream of one day hosting the festival was one of the motivations that united those behind our choir’s creation in 2018. Many of our members attended past editions in Munich or Dublin while Sing Out Brussels! first took part in Bologna in 2023. There’s just something so magical about hundreds of queer singers taking over a city, performing for audiences who really understand what you do and being inspired by creative performances from all over the continent. We can’t wait to show you around!
