Krakofonia is an LGBTQ+ and allies choir from Kraków, Poland. Our name is a funny twist on the city’s name “Kraków” and the word “cacophony”. We’ve been sharing our voices with others since 2014. To us music has a power of bringing people together. We can’t wait to experience those moments with you!

Krakofonia was founded in 2014, and has evolved a lot over the years. Since then, it quadrupled its number of members and sang in 10 different languages. Krakofonia is more than a choir – it’s a safe space where we can be ourselves, make friends and contribute to the LGBTQ+ community. We believe that every person can sing (they just don’t know it yet). Anyone can join us, regardless of their previous musical experience. Our Conductor often affectionately calls us ‘little seals’. This originates from our pet-mascot which is a seal-shaped pencil case that is there with us during every rehearsal. So far we’ve attended VV twice, and can’t wait for our third. We’re sure it will be a charm!

Our history with Various Voices started in Munich back in 2018. We were still a small group, excited to meet so many other LGBTQ+ choirs from all around the world. We’re actually still in touch with some of them! Our second time was in Bologna, which greeted us with lots of sun and delicious cornettos. And this year we’re so excited to visit Brussels and explore its food, culture and sing our lungs out! We’re certain we will make lots of memories that will keep our hearts warm till the next time.
