We are De Homofone from Copenhagen – a choir that sings with heart, humor, and harmony. From pop to classical and Nordic evergreens, we mix voices, genres, ages, and genders for the joy of singing.

Founded in 1991, De Homofone is one of the oldest LGBTQ-choirs in Denmark. Over more than three decades, we have grown into a lively choir known for mixing musical quality with a good dose of humor. We perform at festivals, Pride and LGBTQ-events, and hold annual Summer and Christmas concerts. We have participated in Various Voices since the festival’s 1997 edition in Munich. Together with the three other Copenhagen-based LGBTQ-choirs, De Homofone co-organized the 3rd edition of the Nordic festival Queertune in Copenhagen in 2025. Friendship and a shared love of singing keep us going – and the eternal hope that everyone in the choir remembers their lyrics during concerts 😉

For us, Various Voices is about harmony, friendship, and being part of something bigger than ourselves. We come for the music, stay for the people, and leave with big smiles having enjoyed the community that Various Voices builds. The festival gives us hope for a world built around love, joy, and music – celebrating the beauty of humanity by singing together.
