The Sunday Boys
The Sunday Boys are Greater Manchester’s LGBTQ+ low-voice choir, welcoming anyone who sings tenor or bass. They create bold, meaningful performances and a warm, inclusive community where people come together to learn, connect and celebrate music.
Founded in 2016 by composer Michael Betteridge, The Sunday Boys have grown into a vibrant and ambitious Manchester LGBTQ+ low-voice choir. Our first gig in 2017 marked 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in the UK, shaping our commitment to telling queer stories through music. Since then, we’ve toured Iceland, travelled to Paris and Milan, and experienced our first Various Voices in Bologna in 2023. Now in our tenth year in 2026, we’re proud to continue commissioning new music with queer artists and composers, celebrating identity, community and the power of shared voices.
Being part of Various Voices Brussels 2026 means joining a vibrant, Europe-wide celebration of queer music and community. For our choir, it’s a chance to stand alongside groups whose voices are essential in telling the stories of queer lives, sharing music, building connections and feeling the power of a collective sound that celebrates identity, creativity and belonging.
