Sang&Klang: Los!
Our choir “Sang&Klang:Los!” is part of the KCR (Kommunikations Centrum Ruhr e.V.) Dortmund. Currently, around 30 queer people from the Dortmund area sing with us, having lots of fun and enjoying themselves. Several performances each year ensure continuous engagement in rehearsals once a week.
The name of our choir SANG und KLANG: LOS! – SONG and SOUND – GO! is a german wordplay that also could mean: without any sound. So on stages we often have to insist on the correct emphasis: Sang und Klang – los! We are approximately 30 queer singers of different ages, singing since 1999 loud and proud: quietly longingly songs, political songs, funny and spirituel songs and songs creating confidence in love – musically lovingly accompanied by our conductor and our female pianist. We enjoy to complement a performance with different choirs we are friends with – but the highlights are festivals where our community life reaches its peak – as here in Brussels!
We are all very much looking forward to Various Voices 2026 in Brussels, as some of us have already had wonderful experiences in Munich and Bologna. We still think back with joy and gratitude to the eventful first impressions and encounters we had there. The other choirs inspired us greatly and motivated us to register for Brussels as well. Hopefully, we can rekindle old friendships with singers from international choirs and make many new contacts. We’re also excited about the city itself.
