Mannenakkoord
Founded on March 16, 2016, Mannenakkoord is a unique Eindhoven-based choir that focuses on gay men. Under the inspired direction of conductor Liesbeth Schins, the choir offers a place where musicality and community spirit go hand in hand.
Mannenakkoord was founded on March 16, 2016, but the idea was born a year earlier. In 2015, a group of friends from Eindhoven visited Prague Pride, where they were inspired by the performance of the London Gay Men’s Chorus. They returned home with the thought: we need a gay choir in Eindhoven too! Since then, Mannenakkoord has grown into a unique choir for gay men, under the inspired direction of conductor Liesbeth Schins. Our performances are lively and energetic; we sing from memory and often enrich our songs with choreography. More than just making music together, we create a space where musicality and community spirit go hand in hand. Over the years, we have become a proud and visible part of Eindhoven’s cultural and LGBTQI+ community, bringing people together through music and joy.
For Mannenakkoord, Various Voices Brussels 2026 represents much more than just a festival. It is a stage where we, as a choir of gay men from Eindhoven, can proudly share our voices, our stories, and our energy with a wider international community. Performing at Various Voices means contributing to greater visibility for LGBTQI+ choirs, celebrating diversity through music, and showing that musicality and community spirit truly go hand in hand. For us, it is both an honor and a joy to connect with others, to inspire, and to be inspired.
