Homophon Erster Schwuler Männerchor Münster
For almost 40 years, Homophon has been combining acoustic harmonies with visual delights in an entertaining way, garnished with biting conférencier interludes and daredevil choreographies. The repertoire ranges from madrigals to evergreens and pop songs – often with witty lyrical adaptations.
Since 1987, Homophon – Münster’s first gay men’s choir – has combined musical commitment with social impact. Founded in the context of the 1980s movement, the choir has used singing from the very beginning as a means of visibility, acceptance, and giving the community a voice. Over the years, six founding members grew into 18 singers. Musically versatile – from madrigal to pop, Schlager or specially arranged texts – Homophon has captivated audiences with humorous programs and pointed stage shows. In 2011, the choir initiated the queer choir festival Nordakkord, which has since left a lasting mark on the scene and in 2025 returned to Münster with 500 participants.
For us, VARIOUS VOICES 2026 is far more than a festival: it is a vibrant space for encounter, diversity, and visibility. Together we celebrate the power of music that transcends borders and connects people. In Brussels we want to share our voices and stories, showing how colorful, courageous, and strong the queer community is. Especially in times of growing division, it is more important than ever to stand proud and make hope, joy, and solidarity both heard and seen through our music.
